Laws and Legislation Information and Reports
Join the Kentucky Coalition, Please
When Kentucky was first considering licensure, a group called the Kentucky Coalition was formed to provide feedback on the legislative process. Coalition members receive regular e-mail updates on happenings related to licensure board activities and any upcoming legislative changes. The group has continued to exist. However, now that the law is effect, the group is small, representing only a small portion of the licensed therapists in Kentucky.
Once again, changes to our Kentucky law are being considered. The changes are meant to improve the clarity of our law. On November 1 the draft version is scheduled to be released to members of the Kentucky Coalition for their review and feedback.
Anyone can join; the Kentucky Coalition includes all massage therapists, not just AMTA members. You can join the coalition and receive the draft version by doing the following:
1. Write an e-mail to: KYCoalition-subscribe@yahoogroups.com requesting to join.
2. They will immediately send back an e-mail with a link. Follow the instructions to join the group.
3. IMPORTANT: You do not have to have a yahoo account to join. There will be a step in the process where it will suggest you click "join" and open a yahoo account. On the same screen at the bottom you will see an option to "join the mailing list instead". Click on that to join the coalition.
