Continuing Education

Kentucky law requires the successful completion of board-approved continuing education. Twenty-four (24) hours of training are required for each two (2) year renewal period. A maximum of twelve (12) additional hours may be carried over into the next renewal period. Courses may include ethics, business practices, science, and techniques related to massage therapy. Three (3) hours must relate to the study of ethics.
Two waivers or extensions of continuing education may be approved at the discretion of the board.
Painless Recordkeeping
Lost continuing education records can be a thing of the past if you will take the time to establish a folder or notebook where you always keep them. Try one of these systems: Create a continuing education folder, preferably in a bright color that will make it easy to see and recognize.
After you complete a course, just drop the receipt into the folder. When you are ready to submit verification of your CE hours, everything will be in one place.
An alternate version is to create a 3 ring binder with clear plastic refill sleeves. As you complete your courses, slip each document into the plastic sleeve. Using this system, you can even share your education achievements with your clients by displaying the notebook.
